| 26/05/2011 Junior Magpies Nursery - This Saturday | | A hugely successful launch of the nursery last Saturday as over 40 children between the ages of 4 - 7 took over the green sod and went through their paces thanks to our coaches on the day - Paul O'Riordan, Garrett Doyle, Ciaran McGuirl, Eoin Fenelon, Frankie Murphy along with a very hot and stressed out mascot (Anthony Duffy). The coaches were backed up by several officers from the Club who spoke to many of the parents about our hopes and aspirations for our Club. This weeks fun will begin at 10.45. We were delighted with the response particularly from the parents who took a positive view of our efforts. However mare importantly all the children seemed to take huge enjoyment out of the mornings activity. We would ask any supporters in the vicinity of the pitch to call in and have a look at our budding future stars going through their paces and grab a cuppa tea in the clubhouse. It will certainly bring a smile to your face watching all the childrens efforts. |
| 20/05/2011 Newtown GAA Nursery | | Hope to see as many of our supporters at the pitch tomorrow when we launch our football and Hurling nursery programme at approx 10 am with registration followed afterwards by a coaching session. Newtown GAA and in particular our childrens Officer Paul O'Riordan together with all his coaches have put a lot of work and effort into this venture and we hope for a successful start tomorrow. Why not pop up for an hour to see the young lads of tomorrow getting started. We'd love to see you all young and not so young coming up and encouraging the children. They are, after all, the true future of our Club. Looking forward to seeing you there ;-) |

| 09/10/2010 LEAGUES | WELL DONE TO THE SENIOR TEAM IN THEIR LAST COUPLE OF MATCHES. AFTER A TERRIBLE RUN IN EARLY STAGES THEY FINALLY GOT THEIR GAME TOGETHER AND ARE FINISHING STRONG, THEY HAVE TWO GAMES LEFT IN LEAGUE--KILTEGAN AT HOME-CARNEW AWAY AND IF THEY CAN WIN BOTH THEY CAN FINISH IN TOP FIVE--BRILLIANT TURNAROUND CONSIDERING THE WAY THINGS WERE GOING, WITH INJURIES AND OTHER DISTRACTIONS. WELL DONE ALSO TO JUNIORS ON THEIR LEAGUE PERFORMANCE, NOW IN N/E LEAGUE FINAL, UNLUCKY NOT TO BEAT KILMAC IN CH/SHIP, SOME LOVELY FOOTBALLERS ON THIS TEAM BUT DUE TO A LACK OF DISCIPLINE FROM SOME PLAYERS THEY WILL NEVER ACHIEVE BIG SUCCESS UNLESS THE ATTITUDE CHANGES |
