JUNIOR MAGPIES
NEWTOWN GAA NURSERY PROGRAMME 2012
After the huge success of the Nursery last year we are delighted to announce that we are back again, and weather permitting hope to re-start on the 18th February at 11am at the gaelic grounds, please arrive 15 mins early to register your child if you did not register last year.
The emphasis of the Club's Nursery is on fun and child development and over the course of the Nursery programme to reinforce the values that will keep our children as lifelong members of thr GAA and also help our children with everyday values required in life such as teamwork, discipline, fairplay.
At the Junior Nursery your children will be introduced to sport in a friendly, fun and safe environment, not just concentrating on GAA skills but also fundamental skills known as the ABCs(Agility, Balance, Coordination). Children will follow a specific programme of progression in their development of individual motor skills-(jumping, throwing, catching, striking)-and it is our aim to keep the coaching sessions fun and with plenty of variety with these important skills in mind.
We know that children grow, develop and learn at different rates throughout their lives and with a dedicated coaching team we hope to assist in every child's development regardless of their sporting ability and would encourage children with learning difficulties to attend our Nursery to join in the fun. In order for each child to get the most out of the Nursery we request that all parents must remain in attendance throughuot the duration of each nursery session to encourage their child's coaching and development and may from time to time be required to assist in the coaching sessions.
Children will be put into different groups depending on their age and the coaching sessions will be structured for that age group.
The fee for the Nursery is the annual fee for membership for Newtown GAA--15 euros or free for current juvenile members. Note--current members must still register their child/children on the day.
We at the club are very excited about the Nursery and see it as a great way of ensuring our tradition as a stronghold of GAA in Wicklow.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
