Wicklow People Notes 17/4/23

A great week was had at our Healthy Eating Cookery course for young people which took place from 11th to 14th April. Well done to everyone who participated. The children learned about the food pyramid, healthy choices and cooked delicious healthy meals each day. The children were fantastic and engaged in every aspect of the course, having lots of fun, including a little bit of drama! The children were presented with their certificates of completion on the final day by our club Chairman Dominic Leech. Many thanks to Annabelle from County Wicklow Partnership, Mailyn Bass coordinator and Newtown Community Centre for the use of their facilities. Thanks also to members of our Healthy Club Team and parents who helped with supervision over the week. Following on from this Newtown Gaa are delighted to adapt the Gaa's Healthy Eating Guidelines Policy which will be available to view on our website.

We had a great morning on Sunday for our Sponsored walk, we followed the wildflower route created by Newtownmountkennedy tidy Towns. We had a great turnout with over 90 walkers on the day. Thank you to all the coaches, parents and of course the kids for walking and to our fundraising committee for organising such a fantastic morning. All sponsorship cards must be returned by April 30th to coaches/ committee members.

Newtown GAA Lotto

The lotto jackpot was not won last week, the numbers were 8,9,16,28. There were 3 match 3 winners.

This week’s jackpot is €6,000.

The lotto draw is held every Monday evening at 8PM, tickets are only €2. The next lotto draw will be Monday the 17th of April.

Tickets are available to buy in local outlets including Newtown Credit Union, Nolan’s Post Office, Druids well, Eugene’s food store, Marios, Pat Toolan Bookmakers, Ultima oil, Ann Duffy's flower shop, The Mount Kennedy inn.
